We’re all about people moving UP the ladder, but it seems like Les Miles’ assistant coaches are content to make lateral moves. Jimbo Fisher has flirted with Florida State and Alabama for Offensive Coordinator jobs, and now coach Searels is taking over the offensive line at Georgia. Given that LSU’s assistants are some of the highest paid in the land, what’s the reason for this?
There are, of course, a number of reasonable explanations without negative connotations, and we hope they apply. But just playing devil’s advocate for a second, it’s possible that Miles’ assistants either a) don’t like working for him, or b) don’t think LSU football will continue to be successful over the long term, now that Nick Saban’s star players are starting to go away. Or hell, maybe it’s c) both. We hope not.
Stacy Seareles is a Georgia native, and Fisher has ties to both Nick Saban and the Bowden family. And at least on paper, Les Miles has recruited at least as well as Nick Saban, arguably better. So maybe there’s nothing to any of this. We’re just throwin’ it out there as something to consider. Cuz that’s how we roll or something.

Of all the ass. coaches that might not get along with former O-lineman Miles, maybe the OL coach is it? The running game *was* pretty sucky, and I don’t know that the RBs catch all teh blame.
