Chris Mortensen is on ESPN (via telephone) recounting some high-drama confrontation between Nick and Wayne Huizenga at Saban’s home this morning. Supposedly Saban said he regretted leaving LSU but would stay at Miama if Huizenga asked him to. Huizenga then allegedly got “very emotional” and told Saban he had to “follow his heart”.
We call BS. Where would Chris Mortensen, or anyone else, get this kind of detailed information about the conversation, unless he was actually present?
Also, why does ESPN.com’s story give a completely different account without reference to a meeting at Saban hizzy?
Saban told team owner Wayne Huizenga of his intentions via telephone and then informed all of his coaches by speakerphone that he was leaving to accept the Alabama position
