Basketball: ESPN Gameday at LSU for UConn Game

Spiffy. If you’re not busy, why not show the nation your Tiger fanhood by showing up early and trying to get on camera whilst acting obnoxious? In fact, we recommend donning a hunting cap (cammo or orange), a Git-R-Done tee, and waving a Confederate flag if at all possible. (Preferably the yellow and purple one, but the traditional red will do if it’s all you’ve got in your truck). After all, it’s all about “heritage not hate” down here on the bayou, right? Bonus points if people can see bits of Skoal in your teeth when you go “Wooooooooooo!”

So anyway…

The game’s at 8pm on ESPN and Sirius 107. It’s the first time ESPN Gameday has been to Baton Rouge for basketball. Should be a pretty good game. Hopefully the Tigers can get a little revenge for that 1-point heartbreaker up in Hartford last year.

Depending on which poll you’re looking at, either LSU is #19 and UConn is #14 (ESPN / USA Today), or LSU is #14 and UConn is #18 (Associated Press). Either way, you can split the diff and call these teams pretty evenly matched. With the recent addition of Martin, plus home court advantage, perhaps LSU has a slight edge, although they haven’t performed well against good defenses this season, and UConn’s is better than anything they’ve seen so far. The oddsmakers have LSU as a five point favorite as of this morning.
